Hey Everybody......

Two hundred an thirty eight years ago a handful of very wise men dreamed up this country that most of us live in....... What a miracle it turned into this dream of theirs!!!..... It took the dream, a whole lot of guts, some guns and knives and swords and incredible risk but out of this came The greatest engine for human good and happiness ever created....... And we get to live here........ Look around the planet....... Where else do you want to live and raise a family, start a business or just hang out....... Damn, we are lucky!

Maintaining the dream has not been easy, no grand thing is ever easy and this dream has required sacrifice and pain...... My thanks, to all of you who have served and sacrificed is deep.

So, when the Tradewaters get here later today and we burn a little beef and lift a brew in celebration of this most special of birthdays, I will give three cheers to the USA...... HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY !!!!!!!

Ethan

Amen.

Thank you for posting this, E. There is no country I'd rather live in or fly the flag proudly of than this one. God bless America and those who have and continue to stand up and fight for her.

Flags up, Beer is chillin' and the hog is a cookin'.
Happy Independence Day to all!

Happy 4th of July to everyone and especially to the men and women who have served and continue to serve our nation!

Well said is right. Thanks for this thread, Ethan. Too many people don't take the time to think about what it really means.

Well said sir, God Bless America - today and every day!
"All gave some and some gave all."

It is a great time and place we live in uncle Ethan. Were we have been afforded our freedom and choices. By the blood and actions men & women who have served this country. May we never forget what they have done for all of us. Whether we have served our country or not. And keep fighting the good fight. To keep this great country alive.

Happy 4th of July everyone! Let's stay safe while we celebrate our Independence Day. Have fun, drink lots, and let us commence to BLOW S@!T UP!

Having been born on a very historical day.... THE day we dropped the bomb on Hiroshima. This May have made me a bit more interested in history and the place we inhabit in it than the average bear.... That day was the effective end of the great convulsion of WarII and the beginning of the greatest period of peace and prosperity in all of recorded time.....that period of peace and prosperity was lead by the United States......The peace part happened I think because the incredible carnage of that war scared the holy living shit out of leaders, and led alike all over the world ...To live and grow up in the United States of America during this period and NOT acknowledge how incredibly lucky one is, is a sad thing, I think.....

In the late forties and fifties were a lot of pretty wretchedly run societies that I COULD have been born in (come to think of it there are still a bunch of wretchedly run societies out there) but, I was lucky to have been born here to really fine parents and have lived, mostly, in good places........ Yeah, the Fourth of July makes me reflective and happy and proud all over......What a grand place to be.....
