Hello,

as our old geocities site was frozen for almost ten years (since yahoo bought geocities and lost my account login and password) I was able to find an old backup of all the reviews we made with Fred Perrin in 1998-2000.
It was before digital photographies, youtube and Iphones but I used a video cam and a editing station to take frames and also it was really fun to test knives.

Anyway here is a little compilation about the Military on my own site:

Nice.

I wonder if the old Adventure review is somewhere out there in the digital ether?

Its a great knife. I have an older model version with Military on the blade and S30V and its a user. Love to use it. The only prob is the G-10 goes smooth after a few years. Not too serious though, still got more grip than Ti. :p

no more since last year. But has been there for ten years with no possibilities to edit it or anything... Yahoo lost the keys...
Now it's been erased I will put perhaps some of the old reviews on my site.
(But who minds about the review of a the gorgious Starmate anymore ?)

I sand all my G10 handles. It's either them or my pants !
To much trousers pockets have been ruined by abbrasive G-10.
And with a little sand paper work, the grip is more than enough grippy though.
I really like old G10 patnia through the years. My old Starmate got scars and a lot of stories written in its G10 handles.
Titanium is getting scratch and I also love the way it wears its bade of honor.
The Spyderco seems less scratch sensitive than my Chris Reeve's...

I was wondering about the Wayback Machine - do you recall the URL?

I find too tight clips, usually made of Ti, are the worst culprits for trouser damage.

The thing with Ti is that its actually quite soft. But the real culprit for scratching is that bead blast finish, which is very susceptible to marking.

G-10 is good stuff, hard to beat as handle material if you dont mind the blandness of it.

That Military review is a classic. Thanks for posting it, Nemo! I also really liked your article on the Gayle Bradley that’s on the new site.

And thanks for linking to the archive of the old site too! Those are all great reviews. I remember reading those around ten years ago. It’s hard to believe that they’re a decade old now.

Thank you ! ;-)
Times flies, isn't it ?
