Whoo hoo. It's that wonderous day again. Cant decide if I want to finish up some projects or start some new ones. Hotter than heck today so might wait till Sat to do some forging. Got my grass cut Wed so I'm free to be an irresponsible adult all w/e.

What are you gonna do ?

Wish I had some free time to work on knives, Mark. Same-o shiz here. Siding and windows, siding and windows, siding and windows! OH MY!

Free weekend!! Gonna spend some time with the fiance and the shop. Have to finish up some blades -- plenty of hand-rubbing and forge time. :D

Let's see here.

This weekend is going to be mostly dedicated to finishing up an article on the computer game Doom 3. I freelance write for a website and I'm trying to get this article done as soon as possible since it is a fairly new game and I want to get it out when the iron is hot. Like that blade smithing reference there? :)

My gal is also off to Flordia for a week with her family starting Saturday, I'll miss her but I'll also get a lot of work done when she is on vacation.

Other than that I''ll be watching the Olympics and hanging out. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

I am going to be an adult and cut the grass tonight so I can spend all morning Sat hooking up my KMG.........That damn maching is the Sh**!!!

No more dowl rods with sandpaper to shape those inside radius for me. Should speed things up and now I'll give bolsters a try......Hope the KMG allows my skill to develop. Hand shaping is tough on the old elbows and shoulders...

oh yeah...I have to trim the damn bushes again :D :D oh boy

I just started my regular 3 day weekend on my day job. It's raining, so that kills the outside work. My ol' pal/gunsmith/sheath maker Abe is coming here this am, probably to add BS to the overflowing cart load. The construction folks finished my new # 2 shop, but haven't poured the forge slab in front if the shop yet. I now have a pretty good sized parking area in front of the shops, just finished. My boat is taking me fishing tomorrow morning. The contractor that's doing the work here asked me to eliminate his muskrats in his pond behind his house, and also eliminate some really dumb groundhogs at his place. My .17 is ready to go do the deed. I still have some time for shop work, in and out this weekend. Oh, yeah, hunting season opens Sept.1. IG, your fried squirrel will await you. Just come on by here, I'll fatten you up with REAL fine table fare! You folks are familiar with rivet forges, the little round three legged jobs with the hand crank blower? I have one really good one, and I am having a buddy pick another one up at an auction, for less than $50. It's in a junk pile, and I probably can get it for junk price, according to him. I'm sliding into the forging end of making knives, fellas.

You Ole Redskin, I wouldn't even feed those fried tree rats to my dogs. I could of shot 2 of them rats out of my window this morning. I have a nice 2# swordfish steak to grill up today. Beats them rats everytime. :D

IG, I gotta give you credit, those swordfish steaks are hard to beat! But, you could have had the best if you would have taken the shots this morning. I am keeping some squirrel in the freezer, just for you folks, IG!

We're getting the house termite tented this week-end and we're all staying at my dad's. So I can't get to the shop.

However, I brought a blade and some sand paper. Otherwise I'll go nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Almost finished a bowie and a warnclif blade. Just some finish on the handles.
Two martial arts related things, one knife related.....this is going to be a fun weekend. I'm going to demonstrate the cordwrap again.

Naturally I get too wrapped up in shop time on Friday to post anything here though I did see the thread. :) Finished up the sheath for Danny's Skinning Axe yesterday, maybe I can get enough sunlight to get some rough pics today. This morning I'm planning to finish the sheath for my own EDC; been a long time since I carried one of my own knives. Then I need to clean my shop! Looks like we had a hurricane here too. And I promised my wife I'd vacuum the house today and I need to pick up the yard again - maybe even mow. I'll really try to get to those things too... :D

Don I was planning to come to the Chicago show to catch you and a couple other of my heros but we're leaving for Arizona Sunday morning and it'd just be too long a drive on Saturday to pull it off. I sure hope it's a great show for everyone and that they do it again next year. Good luck!
