Further to a recent knife forum challenge, I am happy to present the World Premiere of the FS Throwing Knife! (Macdonald Armouries 1st pattern
)
This has been crafted from a single piece of 3/16" EN45 spring steel and designed with a shift in the usual FS balance. This has been moved from around an inch back from guard to slightly forward of guard to help with movement in throwing.
Knife has been hand cut, ground, sanded and incised overall. Blade is diamond section though blunted for most of the length to retain a bit more weight overall to offset the grip weight sufficiently. Blade is sharp for approximately 1/2" - 3/4" from point only.
The result? A result!
It throws beautifully, taking one complete revolution at a distance of approximately 7 feet. Forward balance assists a solid "stick" of blade into target.
Enjoy!
And the finishing touch!....
