Here are a few questions to kick around...

1) How long do you think it will take dealers and CRK to sell the remaining supply of OPR knives?

2) How many years do you think it will take for the OPR knives to double in value from their current MSRP?

3) How much could you see a standard OPR knife selling for in 25 years?

4) Which OPR models do you think will be the most sought after in the future?

5) Knowing the OPR is being discontinued, does it make you hesitate a little to put wear and tear on your knife and sheath?

It's hard to say for sure but I presume they will jump up in price a good bit once they do "run out".

I have been busy buying up a few OPKs and now have doubles of the ones I use the most.....Mtnr 1 and 2 ;)

I'd be surprised if they don't really jump in price in the years to come. If you look at other discontinued high quality hollow handle knives, they have all steadily increased - Lile, Timberline, Hackman, etc. Besides Randall and Bill Sanders, who else even makes a hollow handle knife of quality?

Where are all the OPR owners? I'm curious about your answers.

Vaughn Neeley is making knives again...I just got an SE. You can look up Colin Cox. I'm a fan of hollow handle knives...all of mine have been used in some way or another.

I regret selling my Lile (dot) hollow handle combat, but the SE is quickly becoming my new favorite.

As far as OPR, it will depend on the market. Obviously, all the ones made in South Africa are sought after now. I'm sure that the Project 1/2 will be sought after in the future.

I've owned a couple and they were good knives.

I'm sure once they sell out, someone will find a way to bring them back to market...maybe?

It will be intersting to see where CRK go after the OPKs are gone and if any one "capable" will carry the idea on.

And regarding the second part, I can't imagine anyone attempting a one piece hollow handle knife of quality at the price CRK was able to charge.

That pretty much reflects my thought on the matter, It does indeed look like it's truly the end of an era.

I agree and that makes me think the OP knives could easily double in price in 3-5 years. 25 years from now, they could be become real collector items. And yes, to answer my own question, it does make me hesitate a little to use them. Key words: a little. :D

Many confuse hollow handle knives and one piece knives. The CRKs are different because the handle is not a separate tube that is attached to the blade.
I am glad I got this one recently, probably my last one:

Awsome One Piece Knife. I was Lucky enough to obtain 1 of the 10 USN 5.5" Knonka's. I was happy to get one of the spear point versions as I prefer the spear point to the clip point. There were Only 10 clip point & 10 spear point of the 5.5" knonka made. These will surely be worth more as the years go by.

Lots of great questions, I am a huge fan of the One Piece Line, as soon as I get some free time, I will give my thoughts in full.
