It is winters last hurrah in Duluth this weekend, and with the strong wind comes great waves on the Lake Superior. So I took my Busse down to Canal Park and took some pics. Enjoy.

Very cool. Even though you got the blizzard warning it sure is beautiful. The only thing that could make those even more beautiful is more infi;)
Thanks for sharing.

so, have you stocked up on milk and bread and eggs?
or is that just a new jersey thing?
like snow makes everyone crave french toast:confused:
great pictures!

Huh.... no surfers in Minnesota... ;)

It was around 80 in South Texas today.... :D

Sorry... had to rub it in a bit... it looks REALLY cold there! :(

Ya - no surfers.... First you would darn near need a dry suit and then there are all the good sized rocks churning around with you - and then there is the undertow which could drag you out about half a mile ....

Used to body surf in Lake Michigan in August! Get a good east wind (blows the warm surface water in and makes for some good waves.) But still had to watch the tow, the rocks, and man could the waves smash you into the ground if you timed it wrong ....:D;)

Actually there is a small cult of guys that surf on Superior in to the winter. I met one of those crazy bastards skiing in December well he was doing a double header of both sports that day.

Man those are some pretty big waves for a lake! But then of course that lake is almost like a ocean :D

Cool pics, I haven't been that far north in many years. We went through Duluth one year when I was much younger, on our way to a house boat vacation on Voyager Lakes as I recall. The hills were really something to see, dad cursed the whole way, I think he was worried about burning his brakes up slowing down the van and boat he had in tow.
