So I got one of these coming with the Bloodwood Scales. Its from the 2012 production line, but I haven't found too many reviews or thoughts on it. When I saw it I just had to have it. The anticipation is killing me. If anyone has experience with the pattern and pics lets see em. Thanks.

Only got the Owl variants but the Equal End pattern is a very good-looking animal, two or three blades.

Excellent F&F and W&T on my three. No wonder you can't wait!

Thanks, Will

It took some time before GEC invaded the market of medium (3,5" closed) slipjoints, but when they did (with the #66, #68, #15 and #76 frames), they had great success, so I assume you will be very pleased with the Buckaroo. Now, if they could only take that spey blade away...

Lemmy, the bloodwood looks fantastic! I think that if anything hurt the Buckaroo, it was it's similarity to the #66 Calf Roper. They are virtually identical knives, with the #66 having a very slight serpentine frame, whereas the #68 is a straight equal end, both the same length. The three blades were exactly the same between them. Since the Calf Roper came out first, there just wasn't anything very special about the Buckaroo, but it's a great knife.

I'm a big fan of the 68 Buckaroo in bloodwood. :D

I hope you end up liking yours as much as I like mine.

Thanks for sharing. Looks good. Tell me is the blood wood more maroon than red?

Doesn't the sheepfoot sit like considerably lower on the 68 than on the 66?

Dont have a #66 to compare with, but the sheepsfoot on the #68 sits pretty low, maybe 1/32" higher than the clip. The secondary nailnicks are both on the opposite side of the clip. All in all its a pretty slim package.

How is yours blade position/rub wise?

Actually there is almost no rub at all. I wanted to say absolutely none, but on very close inspection from time to time you can see some extremely faint scratches. Nothing like the rub on my other stockmans. Really now that I looked again I cant make out the scratches at all. The knife is really tight and the way they fit the blades together combined with the smoothness of the spring action there isn't much room for rub.

I have the Northfield in Forest Green..its lovely.....dark and deep.

As though it had promises to keep. ;)

Welcome for the forum, barkingtree! Pull up a chair on the porch and sit a spell. And...post a pic of your Buckaroo if you can.
