The general vibe of this subforum is very positive and friendly, making most any member feel welcome. I've posted many threads with various questions in this subforum all answered very well. Of recent I posted a thread asking about the history of boker barlow being that I had trouble dating the knives. I received many responses, even one member who emailed me and is helping me with my hunt for a few traditionals. What took be by suprise though was a individual offering to "check his boker barlow out." I had intially thought he was offering it for sale or for me to handle it and then return it to him. To my surprise, his intention was to give it to me. Fast forward a few days, I received a nicely aged, rust free, boker barlow. It came sharp too and the action was solid and smooth.

I'd like to thank Keith (arrowhd), for his generosity in giving me a knife that I have been quite interested in the past few weeks. It will be something I'll use and carry, to cherish as apart of my slow growing collection of traditional knives.

This is quite the sub-forum I must say. Excellent and very knowledgeable people. Great looking barlow! Very nice gift!

Julian - Lots of character in that old barlow. You did a nice job with your thank you and kudos to Keith for the generosity. Goodness all around. :)

I have to echo statements above...very nice Boker Barlow Julian and very good on you Keith...

Truly kind and generous people here.

Julian,

I really like your photos of the old girl. I found this knife in poor condition at an antique mall. It was at the bottom of a bucket of rusty old "junk" knives. I promised her I would fix her up and find her a good home. Looks like I did. Enjoy.

Keith

Julian, This is the most unusual forum on the internet. The spirit of brotherhood and generosity is like something from a long ago age, as is the welcoming feeling to newcomers. And it only gets better on association. It is no accident that all three of my very favorite knives are the ones that I have been gifted by the forums brother.

Stick around, and you'll find yourself a member of a great family.

Wonderfully generous gift Keith. Looks like your going to be enjoying that Böker beauty for years to come Julian.

I love this place.

Chris
