I have the videos and have handled a drone. I ordered a drone and live Gunting that should be here next week. Let me say that if you buy the Gunting you also need the drone. The only way to become proficient at anything is by TRAINING, TRAINING, TRAINING. The drone is a necessity as far as I see it.
I am extraordinarily impressed by the Gunting. There doesn't seem to be any part of this tool that wasn't very well thought out. I don't know if Bram had a moment of divine inspiration or if he worked for years on the design, but it is incredible. The Gunting is nothing short of revolutionary. I am a full time LEO. There are so many LEO applications for this tool. I really want to become a certified instructor.

Spyderco also did excellent in the execution of the design.

Bram and Spyderco thank you for giving us this fine tool

Shootist: thank you... SPYDERCO SFO..( Christina is working on it now!)and others wil be getting certification seminars together..
I'm teaching at ASLET - American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers...this coming week...
Look for BladeForums and 1 Stop to sponsor another few seminars..Mike is pretty hip to all this.. ( thanks Mike!)
Yes..its been a long haul...
I want to save LEO lives..and make it easiere for Security people..thats the concept behind the GUNTING System...

I'm still ignorant to the compression lock, even after reading about it in the new Knives Illustrated. They show the C66 in ther article on hi-tech locks. I work as an MP at Berryfield in nashville, where I carry an Endura. Two of my buddies that work with me in the same unit, also carry Enduras. Most of my regular Metro buddies either carry an Endura or a Police Model. One Metro Officer buddie of mine is a 5th degre black belt in one of the matial arts, he carries two Police Models. I almost feel sorry for the bad guy that picks him for a knife fight. This compression lock is entrigueing, ideed! RKBA!

I used to think so, but it grows on you. The only thing I can say I would change is the handle to blade ratio. You can fit another 1/2" of blade in there.

Shootist - wait until it gets there and you start inflicting pain on anyone who is willing to listen on how this thing works....

My friends already know the gunting inside and out...and they don’t like to be told anymore...

If you really want to enjoy it (S&M style) - you should attend a seminar with the master himself (for fear of having this message deleted I am not referring to the actual name..)

Dennis, I like the handle to blade ratio, it gives my arthritic hands more to hang on to, one of the reasons that i bought the knife.

The handle is just right. I would like to see a little more blade though.

I have already been using it on my partners at work. They are firm believers in the Guntings abilities.

Well I am doing a test trade of knives with my dear friend Nemo! One of the knives I will get to use for a few weeks is a Gunting! Looking forward to giving it a go!

I think you will like it. I really thought it was ugly till I started working with it. The trainer is very nice to have. you can give the knife a work out without fear of getting bit.

Never really seen the point of a trainer. I use my blades as tools not weapons. I think I can use one quite well enough for a weapon if I ever need to, unless I am up against some MA in which case I am dead anyhow. I guess that is my reservation with the Gunting. It is made for MA and not normal use. It can be used as anormal knife, but that is a secondary function. I will let you know what I think of it, if you are interested.

Cheers!

I will be very interested in how you like the knife. I find it much easier to open with my thimb on the ramp than to use the hole. Very unique design to say the least. And believe me it works. I have used the trainer on several people I work with.

Hi guys! I'm glad you are enjoying the Guntings. The best training you can get regarding the Gunting is from the master himself, Bram Frank(no, I'm not afraid to use his name) Bram has been my friend and teacher for over 8 years now. I am proud to be sponsoring Bram and the Gunting for a seminar in Miami Beach March 3,4, 2001. It is an intense 2 day course covering many usages of the Gunting. Open (blade out) techniques, attacks and defenses, as well as closed (blade in) techniques, attacks and defenses. E-mail me for more info.
