The Gerber LMF II is the most underrated survival knife of all-time, so unappreciated and so misunderstood. I think a lot of people really fell in love with the Gerber Strongarm, and rightfully so, but the versatility of the LMF II should not be overlooked. Many people argue that the LMF II evolved into the Gerber Prodigy and then the Gerber Strongarm, but I like all 3 of these knives, and I think they are all terrific in their own way. I will say that the LMF II is bulkier to carry with the sheath the way that it is, but any reasonable survivalist can see that the pros of the LMF II far outweigh the cons. My favorite in terms of the knife itself is the LMF II, then the Strongarm and then the Prodigy, but I really like all three.

Gerber stinks these days and so does your opinion.

God another one of these posts huh... You like it, that's awesome, but it's not for everyone. It's not overrated, some people just choose to put their money elsewhere and there are without question better options at that price. Enjoy your knife friend.

How many of the "most underrated knives of all time" are you going to tell us about?

It's a GERBER. If you're relying on a Gerber to survive, you might as well lay down and let death claim you.

What do you use? What do you think is better at this price point? Perhaps I'm missing out on something...

Why isn’t the the OP banned by now? For good.. Why is the forum running so slow? Why do we get all the 522 errors? This forum needs to be fixed….
So, I guess you can talk about anything on Blade Forums except for knives??? Is that it???

What knife do you like better as a survival instead?
where to start.....guess it depends on what we determine is survival needs....

in no particular order......Becker whole line, cold steel srk, esee 4, Buck 104, Buck gck, many ontarios, Carothers kephart and other models, some Randalls, to start with......could survive better with those.

You can talk about knives, but your hyperbole and puffery is just, like...enough, man.

Not everything is greatest or the most misunderstood or whatever. It's ok to like various knives for various reasons or for no reason at all. No one judges folks on that, but every one of your threads comes across as "X knife is X!...Fight Me!"

Do a review of one of these knives you seem to be so smitten with. Cut some wood, bang it through a log, throw it at a tree, peel an avocado, take some pics...something. This isn't North Korea, you don't have to love every knife own with all your heart.

Unless it's a smatchet. 😉

Actually a smatchet would probably be a better survival knife.

Only knife I need for survival is the AD 10 or the airlite or one of the other knives you’ve claimed to be the best or most underrated. As others have said starting a thread about your appreciation is fine but declaring “x knife” as the most/best whatever is growing tiresome. Maybe it’s a battle of semantics but it is tiresome my man.
