The Ghetto Wave.

I'm a huge fan of the wave but if I want a knife to have one that doesn't I don't mess with zip-ties, 20 minutes with a file is all it takes, Ive added waves to several knives. No need for pieces of plastic hanging off the blade of my expensive knives.
 
I have seen a wave that you can add to knives with removable thumb studs. It goes on under the stud on either side and provides a little wave. I wouldn't call it ghetto, but it is a cool add on.
