Hand made knifes is the way to go for one it can be custom or at least each one is original. T Toth makes original art on the knifes with the act of etching.
I do not see any thread or other posting place for this, but it is Kitchen Cutlery & Tools. I would like to note favorably a can opener my wife just bought - Progressive I-Can which is available for $12 locally. She sometimes has trouble using her hands to operate some other can openers, but she says this manual can opener works well. It comes in different colors, is supposed to be dishwasher safe and is claimed to work either left-handed or right-handed. It looks good to me and seems to be worth the price. Perhaps others can comment. Feel free to move these comments to a more appropriate place.
I have no problem using other can openers, including the GI P-38 and my Swiss Army Knife, but my level of cooking expertise ("Bachelor Cook") makes the can opener an essential survival tool.
