One of our brethren, Larson1122 contacted me and said he had a surprise he wanted to send me. This was the first time I had spoken to him and I was taken a back by his offer. The generosity and kindness here never ceases to amaze me!!

Well, I did not have to wait long. Within three days there was a knock at the door. Who could it be...

Now...I have seen many many pictures of GEC knives, I can even name most of them, but I have never held one in person. Now I know what all the buzz is about!! What an exceptionally well crafted knife. The fit and finish is class all the way. No flaws here. Classic good looks!! Even the tube is something to behold.

Larson, I am going to carry and use this knife with joy! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Now does this mean I'm a member of Tom Sawyer's Gang? I hope I don't have to sign an oath in blood

Congrats my friend, and fantastic gesture Larson, can't wait to see it age pal, but please don't stop posting all of those fantastic old knives of yours

Pete

I've noticed my GEC's have kicked my old knives out of my pockets most days

Very generous and what a great first GEC! Congrats and Larson1122 has some good karma coming his way. :)

What a great knife! And what a grand gesture:thumbup::thumbup:
Thanks for sharing, these kind of things just make my day :)

It looks like Larson1122 picked the perfect first G.E.C. folder to gift You.
My Blade Forums GOOD GUY list is the size of a phone book.

Wow, how neat! What a nice gesture. And your first GEC?? Awesome.
I predict you'll fall in love. That one, in particular, is an excellent reincarnation of the old world style of cutlery; should fit right in with all your oldies.
Congrats, Gev! Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
And well done, Larson1122!

Congrats! You just scored my favorite Gec blade, no longer in production.
You will be a dues paying member of Huck's Gang, once you send Larson1122 a coin.
Tom's gang carries Charlows. And yes, you can have a multicult memberships, all it takes is some coin :-)

There must be a coin, or it didn't happen!!

Gev, how did you manage to resist all those nice GECs all this time??
That Boy's jack is the essence of a Jack Knife!!

You are very welcome Gev, and thank you for the kind words everyone! It's amazing how much I've learned from all of you in my short time here. I've particularly enjoyed learning about the fantastic old knives you've posted here Gev, and it'll be neat to see this one age as time goes on. Enjoy!

Well I have had it in my pocket all day and it just helped unpack a new chair delivered to my 93 year old (young) neighbor. This knife is just a joy. It carries will in the pocket, just the right weight, and it sure looks good cuttin!!

Pete, I can sure see why now!! Hope the girls are thriving, my friend!

Puukkoman, Yes it has the heart of a classic old knife, right to the core. Thank you, sir

Jon, I can see why its your favorite!! The blade is drop dead gorgeous and compliment by the ebony so well!!

Charlie, the coins are in process. I am putting a new twist on the tradition:D And as to how..I guess I'm an old soul and your knives just did something to me. Having said that, it was hard, very hard, and now that I have held this beauty...I feel your passion.

Jeff, you understand, my friend. Impressions forthcoming and Thanks

That is a fantastic looking example!

My favorite blade and handle material combo. Absoultely fantastic gift, and first GEC.

The giver really gave a gem on this one!

We ought to elect WayNorth for president of Canada. He has done so much for us collectors!

I my self was brought back into traditionals and into the GEC fold by a gifted knife.

Great knife!!! Wonderful folks on both sides of this event!!! Congrats!!!!!:thumbup:

That is an absolute dream knife! And now it has a very generous back story as well. Congratulations to both Gevonovich and Larson1122! Well done.

Great knife gifted by a class act to another class act. Well done! As Pete requested shots as it ages would be appreciated.

Peter

Jon, you rock, sir!

SAK, thank you kindly, sir!

RobbW, yes sir it certainly is a dream knife! Its an born again classic;)

Pjake, already working on my Patina...Patina designation;) I will honor your request, Sir

Congrats to both of you. A great knife and a great gesture.

You'll love the boys knife, it's about perfect as an edc pocket knife. Mine has become one of my favorite of three in steady rotation. The carbon steel gets a great patina.
