The moment I saw the picture of the new Globetrotter, I decided I had to have one. Luckily I didn't have to wait long.

With a 3.5 inch blade, it's just the size I like. I also appreciate a good sharp point for skinning. And, of course, it's 1095 cv with Ka-Bar's heat treat.

Like many other Ka-Bar products, it comes with a serviceable nylon sheath.

At first, I was slightly concerned about the edge geometry. I usually prefer a higher grind or full grind, but after using it, I'm very pleased with its cutting performance.

The coating had to go.

A few passes on the belt sander, and a few passes on the buffer, and it's even better with a convex edge.

The handle is excellent in a variety of grips.

Well done Mr. Jarosz and Ka-Bar. I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of this little knife.

Wow! Awesome photos!

Happy to hear you are enjoying the knife. I was wondering how long it would take to see a modded one, and I gotta say that it looks pretty awesome stripped down. I might have to do that myself!

Thanks a bunch for posting this. As far as I know, these are the first photos of the Globetrotter in the wild outside of what KA-BAR or myself have posted.

Hope enjoy using the knife for a very long time!

Thanks again,

Jesse

Nice review! Looks like the perfect size for EDC. Looks even better stripped.

Awesome Knife and photo's SS like the Mod Thanks for sharing
Do you know when the folder will be released?

Looks great; there seems to be little to no grind lines when the coating's stripped. Thanks for the review.

Thanks, Jesse.

Strip and convex is pretty much standard procedure when I get a new knife. It's a great design, I'm sure it will sell very well.

Another group of great shots! Would you mind if I shared some of them on social media? I would of course give you credit!

Thanks for posting and keep getting out! Loving the photos!

Dig it. I wish that Kabar would make a 1219C2 or 1217 with a wider tang, made of Damascus or Elmax with a hamon. They should use bolteron or some other really nice material for the handle and give it the stacked style. Maybe some ivory in and red spacers as well. That would be one hell of a knife.
A sheath like a BM CO/Victory Plastics NORD sheath.
On the new EK style knives they kind of did a remake or NORD style sheath which I absolutely love. I will pick up a few of those when I get my paychecks in order here. (at least a month sadly)
Thanks for sharing. All the best,,,
