Hello,
I am giving away a Kershaw Ricochet. It is the top knife pictured here:
View

It is a Ken Onion designed Speedsafe action liner lock knife with polished G-10 scales and a CPM440V blade with titanium liners.
There is a little lateral play in the blade that is needed for the speedsafe to work. The blade is in excellent condition and looks untouched. There is a small amount of wear on the pocket clip. The knife is in its original box with papers.
I am giving this knife away to a knife fanatic who is in need.
Why? I have aranged the purchase of a pair of custom knives. The person selling me the knives is doing so at a lower cost than they are worth, he only asks that " > All above on one condition, you help another knife fanatic at some stage."
This is one of the things that I am doing to pass on my good fortune.
please post here and let me know why you are in need of this knife, email me your shipping information (please include your forum name in the email as well) and some one will be very happy. I'll ship the knife to you (at my expense)via USPS priority mail. All that I ask in return is that you help a fellow knife nut out as well someday.
The winner will be picked one of three ways (I'm not sure which) either by the most need (please be truthful) as determined by myself, the person who is being so kind to me, or a totally objective third party (my partner)
Take care, be safe, and be kind to one another,
Chad

Great idea

Reminds me of what my buddy tells people after he helps them out on the side of the road, when they offer him money. He tells them to keep the cash and promise to help the next stranded motorist they see, like he did for them.
good luck,
Ebbtide

Very nice gesture. I am not in need of a new knife but I know there are some who are. I just wanted to say thanks.

Thank you and you're welcome

If I may offer a suggestion, Mike Cooper (L6 steel) is Raffling knives to help a needy kid. I'd like to have it myself

but I can't think of a better person to give it to than Mike. He'll do the most good with it.

Jake

I second what Jake said. Mike Cooper is raising funds to help a kid. That's probably better than one of the knifers here getting another knife.
Just my .02

I gotta agree. Mr. Cooper certainly pre-qualifies for the Golden Rule requirement.

Chad,

You are one of the people who make this a great place to hang out at. Mike Cooper is another. I have to jump on the bandwagon and say give it to him.

Thanks for setting such a good example Chad!

Jim

Yep, Mike's a good man to send it to. That's the ticket. It'll make you feel good all over knowing you helped a kid out. Sounds like Mike has kind of adopted the little fella. It's nice to have folks like you on the forum. Sets a good example thats rare in this crazy world we live in. Thanks

Hmmmm, I wanted to say Please give it to me. Why? I'm an exchange-rate challenged South African and good blades are major expensive here.

After I read this thread I thought I have to throw in my 2 cents and say you should give it to Mike. Helping a kid is a nobler cause than helping the exchange rate challenged

Chad, it's people like you that make this a great forum. Wonderful gesture! Not only is this a generous offer but you show great courtesy on the forum. I think everyone appreciates that, whether they realize it or not. I hope your knife finds a deserving home.

Chad, couldn't agree more, give it to Mike, with the stipulation that he raffle that knife too, I know I'll buy some tickets.

In fact, lets all get together, look at our collection, and send a knife to Mike to raffle off. Lets help this kid out, what do you say guys? Al

I don't want to pile on here, but giving it to Mike for his raffle is the way to go here.

Give it to Mike Cooper. he is a great guy who is helping me start to make knives. Very generous guy. He will put the knife to good use!

yeah, i was gonna say give it to me too, but it sounds like mike could make a better use of it by raffling it off.
also,thats a very nice gesture.

Well,
This may come as a shock.... the winner is....Mike's raffle. Whew, that was a close one.
Mike, I'll email you to get an address to ship the knife to.
Folks, it is you that make BFC great, I was just passing along the kindness that was shown to me.
May you all be blessed with peace,
Chad

I vote that you give it to that Comrade Chang kid. Why? He's the most needy of all!

He's 16. Too damn young to: go buy beer, go buy porn, go to a peeler bar,...and worst of all. Too young to buy a folding knife! Now that's needy!

Besides, the ROLL CALL thread has him listed as an original Blades Forum member.
