Which is very good ,IMHO. I wonder if the "gurkha story" is pirate copy of it?

Good interveiw with a Gurkha officer discusing merits of differnt kukris in it & lots of old war footage etc.

The story of the first video is a copy of a programme that aired on British televison as a short series and 1998 would be about right.

If the video shows the recruits being daubed with an India Ink brush with their number for 'the race', and then mentions that the Royal Engineers had to construct a net below a bridge to save failed recruits jumping to their deaths in shame, then it is that television programme.
