This is a proof of concept I've been working on for awhile that belongs to a small suite, which includes Spud and Mr. Kotter. The Governator is the largest of the three, so far.

A great bro, yoko yoko did me a solid a little while ago. I'm an adherent to the philosophy of reciprocity, and decided to make him a knife that he could use, as a thank you gift. I recently sketched this knife on paper and I think when we were chatting, I looked at it and thought it would be a good match for my friend. I asked him what kind of handle material and he said blue Richlite and burlap micarta. I'm not totally sold on the green tang frame, but I also don't hate it- it's practical.

The steel type is Magnacut and it's 5/32" thick. It's flat ground leading to a convex plane toward the edge, which isn't there yet. I sharpen after making the sheath, for good reason. I just cut the leather, so I'll be working on the sheath and hopefully putting this project to bed within a week.

As can plainly be seen, I did not spend much time finishing this knife. It's built for testing.

I expect that there will be more of these down the road. So far, I'm pretty amped on the important parts.

Very cool Lorien ! I also love that Yoko requested Seattle Seahawks colors in the handle. 🤣

I can't wait to run this through my normal use!!!!!

Thank you big homie!!

My daily cutting routines are based on a slicey knife that will be comfortable running through material people test knives on

..... my body is ready ! Lol

Here's a pic for size reference next a DEK1 and the prototype Mr Kotter!
Boy, that looks like a really nice size for a work knife! Plus with a warnie blade?? Should be a monster!!

Plus sexy as hell!!

Hey Yoko! Could we bother you for a spine shot of those same three? Interested in seeing the difference in thicknesses….

it's very slim, like 3mm or so. The handle is very fat. My goal with this knife was to take advantage of the properties of the Magnacut and create a serious cutter that can seriously cut for a long time, with a lot of control, without causing fatigue.
