Just wonder if some of you could tell me what you've done with your GB's, or have any pics you'd like to share or you can just comment on what you think of yours if you have one. Also I've heard F&F is outstanding on these, and yes I no its made in Taiwan but from what I've seen on my Sage 2, Taichung can make some damn fine knives:thumbup: what do you fine people say?

I just use mine, stainless steels seem to rust easily here in Nebraska so it's got a light patina now after use.

a few pictures...

Lookin good cant wait to put that M4 to work it will be my first time dealing with it and I think I'll let it take a natural patina as well.

I hope your thumbs aren't sensitive like mine or this knife will be a very painful addiction. The lockbar came sharper than some knives I've gotten :D

Edit: I couldn't wait for a beautiful natural patina to develop, so I tried to force one by leaving it stabbed in a lemon overnight. The results weren't pretty. Not sure it it was was my method or the steel, but I think a natural patina would look better.

I'd just use it for a bit and see what you think. The only thing I've done to mine is to clean and relube with CRK grease, which made it remarkably smooth.

FWIW, CPM-M4 doesn't seem to rust, I mean develop a "patina," very evenly and it does seem to be more corrosion-resistant than many other tool steels, especially ingot steels, so before I tried to pre-rust, I mean "patina," the blade, I'd see how it works out. :)

Used mine to make veggie chili yesterday, and then resharpened it (I'm moving it toward a convex edge). It is now terrifyingly sharp and will lop the tops off of hair with ease. I love the M4 steel, and it will push me toward getting the Air as well (will the Air ever come with wooden scales?). I think mine is pretty early--solid scales, on Taiwan on the blade (not Taichung), and the CF scales might be solid CF. So it might be an early heat treat (don't know) but in any case, I don't have another knife that takes an edge like this--so sharp, so easily and keeps it so long.

i love my GB. i hunted down a special one with the No logo, full liners and higher HT. once i got over my fear of rust m4 quickly became a favorite of mine. it can handle anything!

also... the GB has knocked many full customs out of my pocket. the knife is just so smooth!

If I recall, you can polish a patina off with Flitz and try again. It worked on my Superblue Caly 3.5.

Interestingly, I tried to use Mother's polish and it is failing to take off the patina even after multiple applications.
