Now, come'n guys, like it or not, there's no Christmas if there's no Christ. True, I got miffed yesterday because it seemed the forum was declining into mediocrity. But it's Christmas! Without a nod to the Diety, it's just kwanzaa without the Negroes...(that's a joke, you ankle grabbin' politically correct Oprah lovers)...--OKG

Nope,I agree with Jailhack and RD on this one.

I find it amazing that this type of thread (and the political ones we recently had) are allowed to continue and are not moved to the Community forum. Other threads that have nothing to do with knives posted in the General Forum are quickly (and sometimes in a sarcastic tone) moved and the originators reminded that non knife related stuff should be kept out of the General forum. And being "cute" and just inserting the word "knife" or something like that so that you can say "Oh, but see....its knife related because it has the word knife, etc" is pretty flippant.

I know the "reason for the season" but prefer to have it discussed in the proper context and place. And no, I don't think here is it.

These forums are to discuss knives and RELATED topics.

As for the "Greatest Knifemaker of All Time" I'd say its a toss up, you have to define "greatest". Certainly Moran, Loveless, Randall, Price, etc. bear mentioning.

Thank you Mark for posting this, you had to know you'd receive a load of crap over this. After all, He is the reason for the season, not some fat guy in a red suit.
Of course, you are using bandwidth that could be used for such important topics as the best knives to cut apples,for whittling,clips getting in the way(take it off genius),can you cut down trees with your pocketknife,which is the most indestructable knife(asked by people who never take them out of the house),what knife should I buy,what's the best knife for me,etc.,etc.
Merry CHRISTmas all, and if you don't like this thread, why don't you just skip it?
Mark, if the pc police lock you or move it,don't worry,no biggie. After all,they spit on Him,beat Him, they nailed his hands and feet to a tree, and locked and sealed Him in a tomb. He gave His all for all.

Hoss, I WOULD have moved this thread to community, and several other recent threads of the type you mention. However, the MOVE function is Not Working right now. Spark does not know that the problem is. That leaves moderators of BFC only a couple of options: Lock or Delete. Sometimes taking these actions can stir up more trouble than it prevents.

If these sort of threads start to multiply unreasonably, however, I will have no choice but to start locking stuff. And that will certainly offend some.

So I ask everyone to please be tolerant. Enjoy the Holidays (Ramadan, Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, Winter Soltice, etc). Expressions of Joy based on any faith will be welcomed in this thread.

Para, I have to agree with Hoss' initial post on this one. Mark and others are free to practice their personal beliefs, but when this crosses the line into proselytizing to others, I find that to be insulting and demeaning to myself and others for obvious reasons. I believe this line has been crossed with the initial post in this thread and would ask that this thread be locked.

Nah Don't lock it or delete it, because when I read the title my first thought was God of course, and I was right, right on my own and right as to what Mark thought as well, I was glad to see that when I opened up the thread and read that.

As to the others, tolerance is in order, and perhaps some conviction is being applied? But not to worry, I'm sure that this post will soon be slid down into oblivion long after this next week, until then enjoy the Holidays and be thankful for those sharp edged things you crave and might get if you continue to be good and save up your hard earned money.....

Mark, Para does have a point though, and the post probably should have been placed in Community, and I imagine you already know this....just a reminder to you to help cut down the flack I see you always seem to generate

I think that everyone needs to just relax a little bit. Do all of y'all who are protesting this thread complain to the cable company when they air Christmas specials?
