Hi All,

I am about at the point where I have to get the proper machinery instead of making the machinery that I have do what it's not supposed to be doing.

The grinder is a Baldor .5 hp 48x2 3750 rpm. To fast and not long enough to keep the belt running cool.
The polishing machinery is all .5 hp w 6" buffs to weak and to small.
The oven is an Oxy Acetylene torch. It does the job just not how I want it to.

So...................................what to get first... I have about $2000 to spend. So how about some input. The pictures are up just because I like to see the progression.

A larger grinder, finer grit belts(to 800/1000, etc.) & black then green compound would be a good start; that & practice/patience. Look around the forums for a used 1.5h.p.(2"X72"). There are many good sources for supplies(belts, compounds, buffing wheels, etc.). Many knifemakers sand/polish blades by hand, too...........check out the tutorials! Bill.........
