The blood grooves featured on the KA-BAR series of knives appear (to me at least) to be much bigger/wider than on other knives I've seen, so I was wondering: 1) Can someone tell me why? Is there a practical reason? 2)Can anyone post pictures of their KA-BAR's and especially close-up's on the blood groove? 3) A bigger blood-groove, as the one on the KA-BAR series, compared to a smaller, advantages/disadvantages? I've never seen a bayonet with such a big blood-groove.
I'm trying to decide what to use on my bayonet-styled fighter I'm designing (but won't make the knife myself). I do understand that a blood-groove mostly are just for looks, but if there can be any advantage, no matter how big, I'd want it of course.
