Is it just me or what..? But the longer I look at the bark river gunny its starting to look more and more like a kitchen knife lol

knife evolution going full circle ?

Its not that bad , it just doesnt look like something rambo would use to kill predator or alien with ..

The handle does resemble a small Cutco kitchen knife. At least I've thought of the Cutco when looking at the Gunny. However, that's where the similarities end.

Well maybe a superficial look at the blade profile resembles a kitchen knife, although not particularly. The thickness and the grind are nothing like a kitchen knife, neither is the handle.

The only reason I can think of why someone would think that a Gunny resembles a kitchen knife is that they are used to seeing black coated 'tactical' designs marketed as outdoor knives, so a more traditional design doesn't seem to fit into this category. I once heard someone say on a forum that ESEEs resembled kitchen knives! The truth is that more traditional blade profiles generally work better for both outdoor knives and kitchen knives, the success of various modern 'tactical' designs is mostly based on marketing.

HAHAHA.. a esee looks like kitchen knife? lol but anyways them kitchen knifes and bark river knives does a little resemblance because of the black handles and the stainless screws..

My gunny actually sits in my butchers block. It's my kitchen utility knife. Go figure

I guess there is a passing resemblance, but I don't think it's more than that.
