The HD-7's...

I have one. Totally lucked out on eBay. Well, in finding one, not in price. Hah. I remember I was pretty conflicted about spending a heap on a knife. (pause). I'm past that now. *sigh* :)

There are a few people that frame lock Emersons also. Thats always an option. Every one of then I see on the secondary market is way over priced.

There was a video posted a few months ago where a person sent in their HD-7 for repair and it came back with a 2012 marked blade...

Owned one & sold it, sometimes I wish I had not. That said, I love the new stonewash finish on the blades. A new HD-7 with a plain-edge stonewash blade would be outstanding. I just got a CQC-7V for Father's Day and I am loving it. Pretty much a sucker for all things CQC-7 - still have my Benchmade CQC-7 and 1999 EKI CQC-7B. Next run of HD-7s and my finances will be taking a hit.

Same story for me. ^ Mine even had a Krein Zero Grind!
I will get another. I like the wider blade and the thinness of the HD-7 over the CQC-7.

I have a cqc 7v coming in the mail. My first Emerson, first tanto blade, first chisel edge blade etc. I'm really excited.

I used to have an HD-7 but sold it without regret. I like Emerson liner locks a lot but the frame lock wasn't as good as other manufacturer's frame locks IMO. The pivot pin wouldn't stay adjusted and the amount of lock up would change drastically with normal use.
