Through the guidence of BF moderator Bram Frank I am posting information about our new book entitled "The Heart of the Butterfly". This book has 130 pages and is 8"X 10" in size. This book is the first in a series of Butterfly books that will be out in the next year. This book covers the History, origins, and folklore from around the world. We have stories from the Philippines, Europe and the USA. There are over 70 full color photographs, several b&W, and numerous diagrams of blades and handles. This book contains a full index, glossary, and bibliograohy as well as complete references. We have also included a biography of the Custom Butterfly knifemakers.

Ok if you are all looking for a book on Balisongs that say all the myth we are all used to, then don't get this book..If you want to see some really cool versions of the Balisong from other countries from many years and situations..well this IS THE BOOK..
Dominick and Amanda did a great job. Vol#1, which this is, tells of the Balisong from many cultures.And I thought the Filipinos invented the Balisong ...silly me..Now I know better... It even shows the triple action of Cold Steel on a very old knife!!!
It has a picture-photo of a Vientenueve..As I once described..its 29 inches long..
Hey Don,here's a knife with a blade to make even you happy..14 inch blade in a 15 inch or so handle...
The book is done on computer..so a couple of the photos that were scanned in aren't as clean as I'd like BUT thats minor!
There are some great photos ofd balisongs here..
Plus in the back are listings of Balisong makers and Knife Clubs...
Vol#2- Vol#3 will continue where this left offwith even better material and quality of pictures..
