Well its probably not a secret that I am partial to sebenza's, but the last couple of months has seen me carry a couple of new knives in addition to the small sebenza I carry in my missions wallet. A friend of mine Gave me a Dominator that has been a constant companion. It had had the bronze washers installed and a deep carry clip. For the price point of that knife it is awesome and I thought a great knife. Well the other day Darrel Ralph had talked me into trying a new Heat. He had been talking about it for a while and was excited. I now see why! When I recieved it it blew me away! The fit, finish and design and price are such that I don't think that many knife knutts will be able to resist. I have used it at work tha last few days and it is performing great. The ergonomics are amazing. I carried one to church the other night and showed a friend the knife and he liked it so much I gave it to him, only because I had bought several and was able to replace it quickly! :D This knife is gonna put a hurt on quite a few other knives anywhere near the 100.00 price range! I will have one for each vehicle before its over. Did I say I LIKE this knife!

Oh BTW the clip is reversable on this thing... That Ralph guy is a flippin' genius I think  ... keep your eyes on him, I get the feeling he ain't even started yet! Show me something close for the price...52.00 at 1sks.... BTW the pic at 1SKS does not do it justice...

I was able to heft one the other day at GP knives and although I passed, I was VERY impressed. Action was smooth and fast despite the hefty blade. The handles are very sturdy for being zytel and I didn't feel much flex at all. If the knife were just a bit smaller, I would have had to take it home.

You're right -- he makes great butterfly knives, too :p

How ya been, Paul? :D It's good to run across you again!

I was impressed with the smoothness of the opening for a knife in it's price range and materials, I was not a fan of the Dominator (just never liked the look) but I like the heat.

The blade steel is AUS8, not AUS6. :)

This knife looks tempting and the price is right (even though I have way more knives than I need already.) I'm just not sure I want to carry an assisted opener in NJ. (And forget about taking it to work in NYC. I'm in the middle of reasessing what I can get away with carrying there.)

It's a crying shame that knife a good as the Heat is only made with a damn
assit spring. I own a Dominator without a spring and it's a kickbutt knife. The
Heat would sell better and be more useful without a damn spring to cause it
to be called a "switchblade" . Crap!!

Tightwad.
Maybe A.G.Russell will order some nonassisted "HEAT" the way he did with the "DOMINATOR".
Good collecting
