The Holiday "Fight Season" is here.

LEO's and EMT's and Counselors will know what I'm talking about. Thanksgiving thru New Years gets freaky. And I'm not seeing flamethrowers yet, but an awful lot seem to be flicking their Bic.

Let's not get into fights, huh? Everyone'll be stressed enough without them. Chill out.

In short, think twice before you speak, especially if you're going to say what you're thinking.

This may be more appropriate in another forum, but I posted here since it's the biggest. Thanks.

Rusty,

I think people in general have no problem with honesty, only how they express or interperet it.
I for one have no problem with any posts in response to anything I have said. I tend to be honest with my thoughts although I try to relay them in a non-confrontational/non-insulting manner. I have not had any problems with any on this forum and have in fact enjoyed all discussions I have been a party to, even those that have gone to the extreme.
For the most part the people here are awesome and have a genuine commonality in the love of sharppointyedgedthings. Some posts venture off of that path but that is where the moderators come in.
If someone comes looking for a fight then I hope they get banned from the forums, maybe now is the time to seperate the "wheat from the chaff". In all let's enjoy the forums and the holidays and maintain a sense of decorum and honor.

While we may all be familiar and even friendly, we are not really old friends. Your old friends can always tell when you're joking (they know what a kidder you are) and they know how humbly you mean any constructive criticism you offer (they know your heart). Everyone else is just guessing what you mean. If you come close to a sensitive area they will react long before they have any real idea how you meant what you said. On the net this is extremely common. All those smiley faces are an attempt to tell people how you mean what you wrote.

You know the smiley concept is great. In standard English punctuation we have exclamation points and question marks--and little else to express subtle emotion or intent. I think we need smileys on our keyboards (well maybe something a little less cartoon-like).

So, thinking only kind thoughts--Have fun posting, but try and be a touch more polite than you would be with your old pals. We're still learning about each other.

In short, just mellow out and enjoy today, whether you like it or not.

Heck, I didn't even know I was supposed to think ONCE!

Hoping that helps to explain me,
