I have a few things I collect and enjoy including watches, guns, motorcycles, and hats.
A lot of the enjoyment for me is deciding I want a specific item, ie type of motorcycle, style of watch or knife, then searching for it, and sometimes finding the best deals.

I haven't been a member here long, but have collected knives on and off since I was a teenager.
I have really been enjoying looking through the manufacturer forums and seeing future releases, and the exchange looking for interesting or out of production knives.

This forum is such a great resource, and wealth of knowledge.

What part of this obsession do you enjoy the most?

Thanks for reading my rambles.

The hunt is fun, after I get my prey, I'm hunting the next what ever that may be.

I enjoy seeing the new releases hit the street and I also enjoy looking through the Exchange and saying to myself "I want that one.....oh, and that one too please".

The hunt is fun. I don't get much joy out of buying knives that anyone and everyone can get, like production folders.

I like collecting old slipjoints that not many people have. It makes for great conversation, and the difficulty of finding them makes them special.

learning about knives is very enjoyable to me, but my favorite part of the hobby is holding that perfect knife in hand (at least seems perfect atm) after months of waiting for funds (well thats probably not the case for some adults here, i dont put very much into my knife funds as I would like) and just thinking "hey, its mine now"

That's an interesting thing about knife collectors, and especially this forum, we have some guys loving their tactical folders, and yet others collecting actual pieces of history. Yet everyone mostly gets along.

I always get a kick out of showing knife nuts my yanagi, as most never handled one.

their eyes always bulge out of their skulls when I let them cut something.
