I can't believe it. I have to switch email addy's and forget to change my bladeforums profile, then I forget my password. Dang!

Anyway...

Somebody check www.apple.com/trailers and look at The Hunted. Knife fighting movie. You will want broadband to see it. It looks pretty good, but I can't identify the knife. Looks like a modified Becker!?

Any ideas?

No it's not a Becker. I'll be danged if I can remember who makes it but a survivalist had the knife designed for him by ?????? and it represents his oppinion of a good survival knife. The gentelman who it was made for runs a wilderness survival corse (or used to) and sold these knives to the people who went through his corse. Dang, sorry I can't remember any names.

The knife is called the Tracker. It was designed by Tom Brown and has evolved over the years. Most of the early specimens had been put out by retired custom knife maker Dave Beck as well as a few by Robb Russon (sp). The design is held in high regard by some, as the ultimate multipurpose survival tool. It has different cutting edges that all serve a purpose. The knife can be thrown like a tomahawk, cut, chop, saw, scrape and be used as a draw knife and gut hook. It can be used to make expedient camp tools such as bows and arrows and spindles for the bow drill for fire starting. It has three different grips for chopping. A lot of thought went into the design. It is very unique. I have the TOPS version and am very impressed with it. It has the weight of a 10inch blade compacted to 6.5 inches. Yet still chops like a bigger knife. I like it very much.
