The Hurt Locker ?

I've seen it - best movie (I've seen) of the year so far.

It's really good, the best low-budget war movie I've ever seen, too.

But it never got major distribution.

Netfilx it TODAY or wait forever.

Thanks LA.

I only wish I had a Netflix subscription. I've been meaning to open one anyways.

Whoa! Looks interesting and its got some good names in it (Renner, Pierce, Morse and yummy Evangeline Lily!). Hope it gets over here!

hurt locker is basically an action/drama, which basically paints the picture that there are slightly insane adrenaline junkies who come of as heros, and continue with high risk occupation and danger only because he can't turn it off and doen't know what to do with down time. strictly an anti war movie. but i'll have to agree that it's a pretty good production.

I really want to see it but its limited release -- even in Los Angeles -- closest theater to me w/it is in West Hollywood.

Good luck finding a showing Jeff. I had never heard of it until a couple of guys brought it up a work last night. They didn't know of anywhere showing it either. I think it's destined to be a "rental" rather than a "theater" experience for me and Kat.

Hi Bryan,

Good to hear from you. I hope you and Kathy are doing well. I'll give you a call sometime soon, if I can remember.

Rat,

This movie is not really from the "long time ago" category. Are you thinking of something else?

I thought it was a good movie in general and a good war movie in particular. A bit surprising when you consider that it was directed by a woman, Kathryn Bigelow, who also directed one of my favorite cult films: "Near Dark". No feminine touch here. Suspenseful, gritty, and entertaining without any political preaching.

^ Speaking of lady action directors, I was impressed--to say the least--with the Mimi Leder helmed "The Peacemaker" (Clooney and Kidman flick in '97). Some ladies do have a good sense of thrill in their genes!

I try to avoid movies that might cause flashbacks. I might see this one, but only after taking a few 50mg Trazadones.
