The ideal fixed blade tactical!!

I'm looking to purchase a fixed blade tactical knife... was looking at the AM SERE operator, BM Nimravus, SOG Seal, SOG Trident, Fallkniven A1, CS UWK as well as the older AM SOF Attack knives such as the 4000, but I couldnt find the right combo of shape, blade material and color, handle shape and material, and sheath. So, perhaps I'd be better off having a custom knife made, as I was willing to spend upwards of 200 anyway.

These are the ideal qualities that it would possess:

size: 9-12" overall, 4-7" blade

blade shape: like the Almar fighting knives but with a sharpened false edge, CS and SOG look a bit gaudy to me, Fallk looks too plain, and the BM's look too much like folders

blade characteristics: strong as the SOG seal, full tang, visible through handle like Spyd Bob Lum tanto, nimravus, or sere 4000 sof attack, with a finish like the trident or the lum tanto (mirrored for now, with a possibility of later model with boride carbon coating)

blade material: VG-10, S60v(CPM440v), or S30v(ATS34/154CM) ultra hard, strong, good edge-holding... nothing less!

handle shape: contoured to the average size hand, fills the palm for a secure grip

handle color: needs a customized look, but in black, perhaps a combo of black anodized aluminum bolster/pommel with shape as seen on the SERE 4000/SOF Attack, but meshed with a rubberized non-slip grip, in a similar fashion that the elishewitz or LCC folders blend carbon fiber with rosewood, titanium, and aluminum

handle material: something grippy and weatherproof like kraton, but more pleasing to the eye, definitely none of that G10 plastic crap

overall: build quality of a spyderco, affordability of cold steel (I know, not likely, but what the heck!), nice mix of form and function... hey, I'm no friggin navy seal, just a knife fanatic, so I would want the darn thing to look pretty and mean as well as make a cut, after all, looks are the first thing to attract us humans!

sheath material: kydex/ballistic nylon for concealment/quick release, but with an inside surface that will not scuff/scratch the blade, nor absorb water

ANY IDEAS?? Any custom makers willing to try this? Send me an email if you are... OR does a knife like this already exist?? I appreciate your help, and I think this would be an awesome tactical blade to own. Perhaps us fixed blade addicts should do what the balisong boys did, and design our own "ideal" fixed blade tactical knife. See http://www.1sks.com/store/benchmade-model-35-bladeforums-special-balisong.html Maybe this could be a benchmade or almar future project in collaboration with us knife-nuts!

One of the things you are looking for is not going to happen if this knife is made by a custom maker. It is not going to be priced anywhere near the price of Cold Steel. The chances of having a manufacturer build this for you are probably zero. Unless they figure they can sell a few thousand of them, they won't be interested. You might give some of the makers of reasonably priced custom tactical knives a try. Makers like: R.W. Clark, Bill Siegle, Robert Hankins and Sean Kendrick come to mind. If you do find one that would be interested in doing this for you expect to have to pay for it in advance. This is a knife of your design that could be very difficult for the maker to sell if for some reason you do not take the knife once it is completed.

One question about your post above; when you list CPM S60V you include its CPM 440V in brackets afterward. This makes sense as that is an older name for the same steel, but after S30V you put ATS-34 and 154CM in brackets. The later two steels have very little in common with S30V, so I was just wondering why you bracketed them.

IMHO the greatest value comes from Polkowski Knives. As a side benefit, they're my #1 choice at any price.
Also, there's a lot of buzz about the latest steels which of course are exceptional. I'm no expert, but I think that ATS-34, 154CM and the other "more standard" materials are probably just as good coming from a top guy as they're properly heat treated, ect. Feel free to expand on that issue if anyone can shed more light on it.

just ordered the hankins S30V fighter... looks awesome, and it's what I had in mind... went eith it over the dozier KM-1 due to weight. giddy.

Good choice in the range of price you want! Have fun with it!
