If I remember correctly, they were on a par price and quality wise, with the Schrade Imperial's of the day.

Ideal Knife Co was in business in Rhode Island - I don't know when they started but they closed about 1986. They made inexpensive knives, both shell handled and solid handled. In my opinion, their shell handled knives were way below the quality of those made by Imperial and Colonial.
