The ignore list, a real good idea.

I recently discovered the luxury of the forums 'ignore list' option. Now, instead of raising my blood pressure to dangerous levels, the forum is a tranquil place, free of windbags, bloviators and political axe-grinders. And... the best part is they don't know I'M NOT EVEN SEEING THEIR POSTS

I always kind of considered that kind of a drawback of the system. I would rather they KNOW that I think they are such armleuchters (that's candelabra in German, but it's considered the more polite way of calling someone something else that starts with 'a') that I don't even want to see their drivel.

Haven't had to use the feature for a long time.

I have something very similar, called a 'forget list'. It's not NEARLY as selective as I'd like it to be.
