I discovered Mr. Johnsons work by accident when I was doing some show and tell outside of the Chicago Custom Knife show. Danbo pulled a very cool medium sized skelotonized Tanto out of his bag of wonders and I was amazed at the balance. Danbo informed me that the knife was made in the mid 80s. Later that year I met Mr. Johnson at the wisconson Badger show and I purchased a knife from him and later commissioned another. Last week at Blade I was very happy to see bill exhibiting again at this show. I purchased this beauty from him and I wanted to display his craft..

The pictured knife is a medium Tanto in Green Canvas Micarta with Red liners and mirror polish bolsters. It has a hand rubbed ATS-34 Blade. I purchased this knife for $275 which I feel is a bargin for the quality and craftsmanship

Got to play with that one at the show. Very clean work and an extremely good value. I'm guessing you didn't have to think long and hard on this one.

I had an opportunity to shoot one of his projects: The Whale-themed skinner and case. WHEW! (Soon).

I agree. He does stock removal right!

I agree that Bill does great work at honest prices. I passed on a chute knife he had on his table only because it had a mirror finish. I am a hand rubbed finish kinda guy.

Was that the "Jonah and the Whale" piece. Coop? The case alone was worth the price of admission. I'm usually not that much of a fan of "theme" or "art' knives, but that was an interesting set.
