I am on vacation, and my wife brought our SLOW laptop. So last night we got it connected with Juno dial-up and just before 9:00pm EDT I was able to see Jerry's morning post with the prices and the timing. I figured I was toast with my horrible connection, so I was about to post asking someone to help out this piglet and order for me, when the BF server locked up. Like everyone else, I spent the next 90 minutes refreshing, and trying the home forum. In the meantime, I composed my request (Olive Meaner) email to Jerry and Co. Juno dumped my connection at least twice, and I dozed off a few times.

Then....the miracle occurred....well at least a minor miracle. Another F5 and OMG, it looks like a real GO thread!! Open the thread...it doesn't crash!!....It IS the real thing, 10:34 and only 3 replies. My watch reads 10:34 and change......hit SEND!!!!!

After 90 minutes of server messages and connection crashes, it was like the waters parted and the sky cleared so I could see the GO. I just hope the Juno server responded with a reasonable outbound connection, and the Busse server let my note in. I did not hear from Amy yet, but am surprised that ANY replies went out today, so I remain patient and optimistic. This was only my third or fourth 'Ganza, but I've not seen the servers hammered like that.

I can imagine that there were a LOT of other BF members pissed off at us last night, or cursing their problems without knowing that WE were the cause.

if anyone on the forums is upset, i havent seen it posted anywhere. i even started a gbu thread, thanking the busse family and apologizing to spark and anyone else who was bothered. no neg posts yet.
 
Wow, you must've been thrilled! :)

I found the experience very trying on my patience, especially when it was past 10 and my baby started crying for food (despite the fact that I fed her just before 9 to try to avoid her getting hungry again while I was trying to do this). I was so close to giving up entirely, but I didn't. I fed the baby, while keeping one finger on F5 the whole time ;), and I managed to send an email off at 10:34 before the "go" thread became a sticky. Yes! :D

Hopefully "the INFI gods" will be on our side given the troubles a lot of us had to face and the creativity and luck that went into getting through it all. :thumbup:

Thanks! Just got my webcam back yesterday. It's hard to find a time when the little one is awake enough (and when I look decent enough :o) for photos, but I certainly haven't forgotten. :)
 
And the happy ending to this fairy tale...........

Got an email from the AWESOME AMY-0 that I scored my FIRST Meaner!! :D :cool:
