Sitting eating my lunch today and SNAP! One of my teeth splits in have and falls outta my yapper. Now I am looking at $1600 for a root canal and a cap. Money which would be better spent on purchasing my first Busse. Perhaps Jerry could make me an Infi cap and I could epoxy it in place. My first taste of Infi.

Now will that be crinkle coat or satin.....

Cheers,
Gord

Gord,
Sad news!! I had a tooth split down the middle too. Hurt
like heck when I chewed on that side. My darn Insurance
company wouldn't pay for the cap because they are cosmetic.
Dentist said he could try and fill it, but it might not work.
Told him to fill it, Insurance paid for it and so far so good!!:D
Good luck,

Ouch!! Haven't had that happen yet. However all four of my back teeth are cracked due to pressure from my wisdom teeth. I was suppose to have them cut out many years ago, but fear has slowed down those plans :) After hearing this I might call and make an appointment before something really breaks.

No way my teeth with take a bite out of my INFI funds.

Gord,
Definitely bad news, I hope you can get it fixed soon and it doesn't cause you any more problems. :(:(

Keep us informed how it goes

I think it gives me that "tough" look, my wife is not so impressed.
I will get it fixed up and won't let it stop that SH purchase!

Onwards,
Gord.

Deja vu, Gord. Wife had two root canals and caps, maxed the insurance and then some. Three weeks ago, my teeth start up. Dentist filled two, but they hurt worse now than before, so it looks like canals and caps for me. :barf: :(

Now if you want to save money, a co-worker of mine shot some epoxy in one of his teeth and it has held up fine. No I am NOT making this up. So at least in theory, Jerry could grind you a bit of INFI and you do the rest. Home dentistry at its best, or worst...

Ouch! I hope it turns out well.

An INFI tooth? Great idea. Now that's a real test for corrosion resistance :D

Yeow:eek:
Good luck with the shop fix Leemah1;)

DN, you're not alone! I need my wisdoms pulled also:(
Everyone tells me that having them dig out buried teeth and leaving huge gaping holes in your gums isn't all that bad:rolleyes:

Oh sure, that's why I'm jumping at the chance to do it too:barf:

I recently had my wisdom teeth removed and it wasn't that bad. I went to an oral surgeon to get it done and it DID NOT HURT AT ALL! About an hour before I went in they had me take a valium. By the time I made it down there I was too woozy to care what they did. A few shots in the gums and puffs of nitrous later and I was feeling NO pain! He said "One down, three to go" and I couldn't believe he had even pulled a tooth! When it was over, I just got up, thanked the dentist, and got driven home by my wife. It really was no big deal.

For a few days, you really have to be careful not to get "dry socket". You can't smoke, drink through a straw, etc. You will heal up in no time.

I hope it goes that well for me. Starting to ger the feeling I don't have too much longer. Recently I've been getting periods of anywhere from thirty to sixty minutes of extreme aching and pressure from my wisdom teeth. It always goes away, but its starting to become more frequent.

Did you miss any work hours by staying home or were you able to get right back into things the next morning?

DM,

Good luck with it. Mine are also impacted. They have not caused any problems.
Yet....

Cheers,
Gord

Just a side note for Armed Forces Personnell:
When in USMC boot camp, had to have one wisdom cracked and removed. The surgeon suggested taking all of them out early, as it would be rougher the longer you wait. Took his advice and during my tour, had the 3 others taken out. They actually have some very good surgeons in the forces and it was Free :D
Doesnt hurt at all and is kinda fun, specially when they have to crack them with a chisel and big mallet, they start swearing and sweating and they really have to be strong, its not easy taking them out and is not a job for wimps. All you have to do is sit there bracing your jaw so it doesnt dislocate and enjoy the show. Ah...the good memories.

Had all four of mine out a few years back...they put me under all the way because one of them was pretty impacted. My jaws were sore for a day, but I ate a ham dinner that night, and pretty normally after that. My advice is to schedule it for a Friday, and you'll be perfectly functional on Monday.

I'm hoping to have mine done this summer when work slows down.
It's only been in the last couple months that have I noticed some pressure and an occasional throb.

My girlfriends brother had his jaw broken during removal of his four:eek:
Something about the root bring really over grown and lots of chisel action IIRC:(
I hope I'm not part of the chisel bound group:)
