what can you tell me about knives that lock similarly to the ag russell one hand knife

Who invented it, where did it come from, who else makes them.

Also strengths and weaknesses of this locking mechanisms

Interestingly, I can't easily manipulate the "One Hand" knives with one hand, like I can liners, Axis, integral side-locks, and rocker-bars that have the release near the blade.
 
i think that i have figured out that problem (ease of manipulation) on my version (i like designing knives) with a "thumb wedge"


does pat crawford still make knives like this?
 
anyone want to give me some feedback on this mehcanism and its history? no wealth of knowledge and opions on this?


btw looked at crawfords website, no sign of the integral lockback
 
FYI, Northwest Knives currently has a Crawford listed on eBay. Here's a montage of some pix from the auction.
