The I's have it
Here are my thoughts, if Customs is stopping the shipments of any said knives or swords because they are classed as weapons for whatever reason, then just have the suppliers make glass or acrylic sealed cases that hang like art, simple! Have the shipping invoice read sold as display only as artwork. for it is trully an art form, thus as a display only in a sealed container so if the end buyer wishes to remove this said product from its display case, the shipper holds no said laws for him, you take the risk.
Canadian Laws shows nothing about this form of artwork for display only. I believe it couldn't be stopped. I am not a lawyer, however I do think this is another way to look at it.
Should our Country or any Country stop us from enjoying our art, perhaps I should apply for a government grant to start The New Knife Art of Canada.
Gallery,What are your thought?

1. Governments doing what they do best, they probably won't consider a functional knife or sword "art" just because of its packaging.

2. That being said sealing things in blocks of glass or acrylic is expensive, especially because if you are trying to pass off the items as "display only", it must be a sealed and damn near impossible to open case, so the Customs people can't get at the "weapon" inside the case.

3. How were you going to get the item out, assuming you wanted to do anything other than stare at it on the wall?

This was part of my reply, it was a little off the wall, so to speak, the thoughts were not what i was trying to say, other than looking at ways to accomplish as task, didn’t say that it would work, it was only a thought, perhaps it is possible, anything can be made, would it work perhaps, anything can be tried.
Building a box sealed plus opening yes, very due able, about cost, what is the knife or object selling for, I think we are taking about a knife selling for over three hundred bucks or more, what is few more bucks in a display case, $60.00 maybe $100.00 if it helps clearing the crossing, it would be something to look at right
Better than being held up..
I will check with customs to see what class of this art form is classified as, and see if it will clear, how is that.
Give me a few Day’s to get the info for you.
