Anyone else ever read one of Carl's stories and then feel the need to get a knife like the one featured therein? What am I saying, I know you guys have, Case must have sold hundreds of peanuts because of jackknife's tales.

Here are some knives that I like to call the Jackknife Collection. I think each would fit right in with one of Carl's stories.

Top to bottom: Knives of Mr. Van, Pavel Luckowski, Captain Martin, Reverend Harding, Granddad, and Trapper Bill

Who else has been inspired to get a knife Carl has written about? Share pics if you have them.

No fair! I opened the thread thinking you'd take pics of HIS legendary knives. :-(

Unfortunately no pics yet, but thanks to Carls stories I ended up so far with:

3 Peanuts
1 Mercator
2 small Douk Douks
Box full of modified Opinels
Wallet with: a savety pin, P38, bandages.
Key ring with : a small Phoenix light, nail clipper and Alox Classic

So yes LOL

I will have to take a group picture later but I attribute to his influence a few bandanas, a Peanut, a Vic Bantam, a few Sears 4-way drivers, a standard yeller Case trapper, a handful of Opinels, a nice pipe, and my desire to find a Colt Woodsman...now I just need a Vespa and a corgi and I'll be set! The man is a viral marketing machine!

Edited to add: oh yeah, my girlfriend just got a VW Beetle...get outta my head Carl!

I say. Neither he or his knives exist. They are just a fiction written by some crazed individual.:D
But then again I could be wrong:eek:

Carl's stories and insights have have been an influence on me. On my keyring I have a victorinox Classic and a Sears 4-way screwdriver. I carry a bandana everyday. I own a handfull of Peanuts, two carbon steel scout knives, sodbuster,Opinel, Victorinox Bantam and a Wenger SI. All of these were purshased because of his influence one way or the other. Probably a few more that I'm forgetting. Thanks Carl, I don't regret any of them.

What a great idea for a thread!

My carry items have definitely been influenced by our own scout leader of sorts, Carl. My back pocket always has a bandana, my keys have a 4-way, Dutch army knife and puukko ride with me often (and live in the truck)...
Thanks for the thread, Christian.
Thanks for your wisdom & influence, Carl.

Glad they like it Carl. I posted the pic once before, forget where :)
