My latest handle job ;)

Helle Hellefisk blade (from Ragnar, of course)
Buffalo bolster, fiber spacers, bonestag and the buttcap is the reason for the name "Jersey Fisherman"

I need to work on my peening...I'm blaming stainless :(

:D

With a total cash outlay of less than $30, some epoxy, files, a touch of Dremel (not necessary, but speedier) and some sandpaper.
Try it!
Its easy, fun and rewarding
:D

Ebbtide,That is really nice! Nice freakin' job!

Thank you :D
The thin (1/16" on my steel ruler), flexible blade sharpened up nicely.
Although it is a Helle, the knife is flat ground with a regular edge bevel.

Ebbtide, consider on your peened pin, get some very small cratex wheels...like 5/8" diameter knife shape... thin them down to a very thin disc. use that very thin Cratex disc on a Dremel tool or Foredom tool to "clean-up" your peened pin.....works pretty well!
Nice knife.....don't wait long to try your hand at grinding your own steel....the more of it you do, the better it will make you feel about the finished product.....
If you need to start with files, do....if you can go to a belt grinder, fine.....
Have fun and enjoy doing the work!!!!!
The more you get involved in making knives, the more "addicted" you will get to the craft!!

Thanx for the tip JRF :D
You're not the only one after me to start on some steel with some files lol.

Esav, I'll put you on my waiting list :D
