Hi folks -

A few quick pictures of the Small Simple Scandi that I won at the Skills Gathering for (finally) being able to start a fire!

Thanks to Stomper once again for his generosity in giving out three wonderful knives as prizes, and also making each attendee a JK firesteel scraper (also pictured).

I have included a picture of my Izula for size reference.

I will use this little guy to practice making figure 4 deadfall's for the next gathering. :D

best regards -

That's a nice little blade--congratulations!

Any chance of a boat tail Scandi in the future, John?

I have no idea what a boat tail scandi is. As it stands right now, I am no longer making knives just to post for sale, seems like a waste of materials.

That's a sweet little prize mqqn. That striker looks like it would work pretty good.

A boat tail scandi would be great. I really like the one made by Blind Horse Knives, the handle shape looks very comfortable.

Yeah, I suppose that makes sense--given the economy and how close we are to the holidays I suspect most people are saving their money for something specific, so they are less likely to be buying things you've made just as stock for sale. This is what I was referring to for a boat tail scandi, though, in case anyone does get interested:

The SSS that mqqn won was a sweet little knife for sure! Congrats again on your fire.

I have been very curious about that style (the boat tail scandi) as it looks like it would be incredibly comfortable in a variety of grips. Does anyone have one or experience it?

I would be super interested in a JK version!

nice work once again John... i really like the looks of this simple scandi..
