20 years since I've joined Bladeforums, so maybe a good moment to take a look in the rear view mirror. While like all of us here I've bought and sold countless knives over these years, seems like I've also kept focus on 3 main areas: OTFs, Millies/Pacific Salts, winter Vics.

Back when I joined BF I was very much into the idea of OTFs, Benchmade Infidel being my ideal one-and-done at that moment, yet I never really pulled the trigger due to the combination of quite high price on one hand, and the fear it will be some useless gimmick, like my NATO OTF, on the other. Fast forward to 2020, when I've decided that I'd rather try out this OTF thing for myself. And boy, was that some trip.

Sorry for the crappy indoor lighting (the day started off sunny and nice but got hazy and cloudy while I've been pulling everything out of storage) and for some out-of-focus bits (where the blame is all mine).

Ultratechs (mostly Gen 2s, plus 1 ZPB and one DLC Makora)

My main area of interest over the last 4 years or so. Have been fixated on getting variations of blade shapes (blade finish, logo on the handle, even type of jimping counting as variations) while having no two handles exactly alike. Been getting my kicks out of rotating & using different blade shapes all the while gripping comfortably the same handle contour. It's getting a bit hard to rotate them now, almost as with this next bunch.

Millies (and some Paras)

Been collecting/using them since 2007. My favorite Spyderco model. If you happen to spot a couple of M2s in there, they are not entirely bad and I can use them in a pinch, but I don't want to. 😋

Salts (mostly volcano grips)

Not pictured in the bunch are a serrated Snap-it that's somewhere in a BoB, and a Stretch XL (my only H2 knife) that's sitting in my car.

Miscellaneous OTFs (mostly Microtechs)

Not pictured in the bunch there's an Ultem-top DLC Combat Troodon that I've forgot to take out of the box for the pic, and a tan Mini Hera that I've forgot to take out of pocket ;) . Manticore fam next to Hera fam, love 'em both. As you can see, I did get a Benchmade Infidel eventually (and have been utterly unimpressed with it).

Miscellaneous (mostly Spydercos)

Not pictured in the bunch my backup Watu & Ikuchi, a T-Mag, Kapara and a couple of Ladybugs/Jesters.

Next up the Vics bunch (the Swiss Champ on the very left is my first 'serious' knife, has been a gift from my parents sometime in '91 or '92 and I've kept it pristine).

Dunno what the future holds but I'll make sure to report back in 20 years or so. :D
