More pictures @ my Photopoint album!

Bladelaw, hope that it came out as you wanted it, just let me know otherwise.
Thanks for the patience, just didn't have the time to do it this morning.

Holy sh!t!! WHat's that first one??? Daaaaaamn. Nice stuff! GREAT score, buddy! Love that Rhino. :D

SWEET! That piece looks like a hybrid 8. Funky. I don't even want to know how much that went for...

Bladelaw,

That is one nice set of knives that you have there - well done for your vigilance and speed in picking those up with nobody else from these parts getting a look in!!

Love the Rhino and the knife at #5 is that one of the early CQC series?

Regards,

Ed

Jonas: Thanks for your help! Here's some more info. The first pic is a " special " 8. Hand contured scales. A " Viper 4 " style elongated blade, serrations, gut-hook w/a small bladed screwdriver built into the tip. ( The next Emerson production model;) The next picture is just your ordinary Rhino. The next is an early chisel-ground ES1-M w/ hand contured scales. Next is the knife I've dubbed CQC1, the first variant of what became the CQC6. Full filework, no thumbramp, hand-checkering only at the rear of the scales. The next is the knife I call CQC2. Full filework, including the blade spine, hand-checkering w/ tweezers. Next is one of the first three CQC6s made. ( Maybe the first )Full filework, thumbramp, hand-checkering and tweezers. The blade is narrower and slightly shorter than a current6.( By the way, the logo on CQC 1 is a Viper logo.) The next two pictures are of a very early Viper 1, no clip. The logo is a Specwar. Ernest believes he reprofiled the blade at some point and put on the newer logo. Enjoy! I'm takig pictures of the whole collection( twenty eight customs ) and will post them soon.

BLADELAW: VERY nice score!!! Wow...what is the name of the wierd CQC-8 variant w/guthook? Very sweet!

--Robert

It's called the meanest 8 on the block! Seriously it doesn't have a special name. It was designed to go there and do that and actually did. Maybe I'll call it the " BLADELAW 8":D

Hey, glad that it turned out ok :)

Btw, posting something like this: "The next picture is just your ordinary Rhino" should be illegal!! Rhinos aren't ordinary by any means

Very cool :)

(Photopoint seems to be down, hopefully back up soon)

Awesome stuff Larry!!

That must be the score of the century... ;) 900yrs to go, give or take a few months

:D

ps Well done Jonas!...

Bladelaw,
Awesome collection of truly rare and unique customs.
FWIW, the second knife is a ES1-"C". It is the Civian version unless there is a "Wave" (remote opening device) that is washed out by the lighting.

It helps to have friends in the right places....

Congrats !

Tamishigiri and others. Thanks for the comments. The ES1 is an "M", the light washed out the wave.

Very nice. The sad thing is that I turned down a gut hooked 8 (no serrations or screwdriver, just the gut hook) many years ago because I thought it was kind of dumb at the time -I just looked in the mirror and saw the big idiot who passed on the "dumb" knife. It just goes to show that you really can learn some stuff as you age gracefully. Great score Larry-you da man.

Bladelaw,

Just checking you said that you have 28 customs in this collection - how many mortgages on you soul did you need to get the set??????

Regards,

Ed

I'd tell you but then I'd have to have Tamishigiri hurt you:) Remember my motto" Will work for custom Emersons "

Bladelaw,
Did I read your post correctly, there are 28 customs in the collection  You have to get the rest of the pics posted before I have a heart attack! If the next 20 are as spectacular and unique as the first 8 then they should really be a sight to see. Congrats on your acquisition and I can't wait to see more pics.

Mac

BLADELAW: Congratulations, that is an amazing score. These blades should be an excellent addition to your collection.

BTW: Didn't you mention in Chat some time back that you always wanted to adopt a Filipino son who could one day help you clean and maintain your customs collection?

:D

And then inherit when you die...er kick the bucket... ummm..pass on into heaven. There we go. :D But, sorry, Ray - he mentioned he wanted a white, middle class architect... hey! That's me! ;)
