‼️😲

The previously discontinued Leatherman Juice CS4 and XE6 are now back in stock at Leatherman's website as of this morning on west coast time. They are both the same price (79.95 usd each).

The CS4 has an awl, a wood saw, a knife, scissors, 3 flat drivers, 1 Phillips driver, a can/bottle opener, a corkscrew, and a set of combination pliers with wire cutters.

The XE6 is the same as the CS4 but it also has a serated blade and a metal saw/file with a diamond coating on one side.

It is my understanding that this is most likely a sale of old stock, meaning that once these things are sold out, they will be gone again. I don't think these are being manufactured again.

The Juice series is/was considered to be basically Leatherman's Swiss Army Knife competitor. They are about the same size as a swiss army knife. The corkscrew of a Juice is able to store a Victorinox mini screwdriver.

EDIT: They appear to be sold out.

Thank you for the heads-up -- 1 XE6 in moss green bagged as a Christmas present for my 15 year old daughter!

Edit, just got one in granite for me too.

Don't do it.
My 16yr old daughter has already claimed my collection😮 She keeps telling me to catalogue it. ? I tell her I am going to be around for awhile yet. Her reply "I don't know you are getting old"😠😢😊

Nice choice by the way.

I grabbed a couple of the XE6 in granite. One to keep, one to carry.

The CS4 were tempting me, but I couldn't justify the cost when the XE6 is the exact same price but with more tools. Sure, it's thicker and heavier than a CS4, but it's worth the extra bulk to have a super high quality diamond coated file and an extra knife. Files are a lot more useful than a lot of people realize, and while I don't like serrated blades, I suppose It's fine to leave the serrated knife untouched for use as an emergency backup.

I think people don't realize how good the XE6 is. It's basically a Wave, but smaller and with a couple of extra tools. The Wave doesn't have an awl, but the XE6 does. The Wave doesn't have a corkscrew, but the XE6 has one. The Wave's scissors aren't as good as the scissors on the Juice models. The XE6 and other Juice models also work with the Leatherman bit adapter. The bit adapter fits over a Juice's Phillips driver, so you can extend its reach and use bits with it.

The XE6 doesn't have a micro bit driver, but Juice corkscrews can hold a Victorinox micro screwdriver in them, so you're covered anyway. The only thing that's really missing on an XE6 would be ruler markings, but you could add some yourself if you really wanted to.

I really hope Leatherman comes out with some type of replacement for the Juice series. It really was better than people gave it credit for, and there's not really anything else like it on the market right now.

They'd capture a great deal more of the backpacking/hiking/ultralight market if they put out a replacement. I got a S2 that lives in my backpacking gear.
I'd never even heard of the XE6, but it weighs close to my ChargeTTI, so I can't see an advantage to having tinier tools for the same weight, even making an exception for the oh-so-useful awl.

Besides how much less money the XE6 costs compared to a Charge TTI, the main advantage is that the XE6 is more packable due to being smaller. It takes up less room, so you can use a smaller pack or have more space for other things. How much space your gear takes up is something that matters almost as much as what your gear weighs.

Thank you. I bought an S2 in orange for my eldest daughter a few years ago, and she likes and uses it occasionally. My middle daughter who I just bought the XE6 for is a quite a bit more handy than my eldest, so I am sure she will like it very much.

Without the can opener and corkscrew I'd have been tempted to check out a CS4, but the size just doesn't really have a place for me.

I'm certainly glad people who want one have another chance to get one, the line never appealed to me as leatherman made them but the size was a good idea for leatherman.

Oh good, I got enough room to bring that extra sweater now!

I kid, I kid. I take your point, and think it a good one (a 15% reduction in, say, packed sleeping bag size would be significant) but if you're packing tight enough for the difference between a Charge and a Juice to come into play, you may be bringing a few too many things.

For me the issue is ( beyond not liking the implements) that I want a full sized tool like my Bond or Fuse at work, and a much smaller tool like my sebertools or squirt in my pocket when I'm not at work.
The juice just doesn't seem to bring anything to the table that my PST doesn't if I want to carry an in between sized tool, even if it is a little smaller than the PST.

If I liked the impliments I'd maybe try one in place of a PST I suppose.

I was actually thinking more along the lines of a hip bag or a chest rig. But I do get your point.

Just seeing this, Really with they brought back the S2. I have 2 CS4s that I love but could do without the cork screw.

The Juice series is the perfect size for an emergency backup tool. Big enough with enough tools to get real work done but small enough to be unobtrusively stored until needed. I have had the CS4 in the saddle bag on my road bike and it has proven itself on more than one occasion.

Same here. It's a mystery why they even did this in the first place but it would've been so nice to be able to grab a few of the Juice S2. I would've bought at least two of them. 😢
Same here about the S2 but I don't think it is a mystery. People have been complaining forever about the Juice line not being around and there is a distinct hole in the leatherman line-up between the Squirt and everything else.

But since I already have two CS4s, and they decided to include the corkscrew with these re-releases, I won't be adding another.

I'm pretty sure these aren't meant to fill a hole in the lineup. This is a limited offer and once they're sold out, that's the end of it. I don't think they built these recently. The theory going around is that these are old stock that were sitting in a warehouse somewhere, and Leatherman dusted them off and put them up for sale. Based on what I'm seeing, they have old manufacture dates stamped on them, so the theory appears to be true.

I hope they have some more old stock from other Juice models. Maybe this is just the first batch, and once they're sold out then they'll put up a couple of other models.

Old or new stock, there absolutely is a hole in the line-up that these fill. Hopefully leatherman sees that with this venture and make a permanent reintroduction or a new model that fills the gap between the squirt and everything else.

I do hope you are right though, and they dust off some S2s for sale.

CS4s, and they decided to include the corkscrew with these re-releases,
I thought the CS stood for corkscrew. Are there versions with no corkscrew?

I really like the s2, but I wish the scissors were on par with the victorinox tools.
