I have been a knife fan all my life, but as I wrote earlier, you guys have turned me onto higher quality knives. I like big folders that carry light. Already have a few Tyrades and JYD II with composite or laminate blades, as well as 2 Militaries. My latest is a Benchmade DeJavoo. The blade shape and profile of the Military is sweet for slicing but I do not think with that sharp point it will be a good skinning knife...going to try it though. The blade shape on the Kershaws is better for skinning. But, the Benchmade is just about close to perfect for my uses of everyday cutting as well as looking like it will do fine for dressing deer or hogs.
Am I missing any other folding knives that are slim, proper blade for my intended use with good steel?

I carry traditional slipjoints and occaisionally mid to higher end tacticals but if I'm in the woods and expect to do some skinning I always bring my Buck 110 or my (USA) Schrade LB7. Wouldn't be able to do the job properly without 'em. I think a Millie could handle the job better than a JYD. Just my $.02

Buck 110 definitively does a nice job (only time I like a clip point). If you are looking for a nice folder without a fine tip, a Benchmade Griptilian may make a nice skinner with the sheepsfoot (BM550) blade.

Spyderco Stretch 2 in either Carbon Fiber with ZDP 189 or in FRN with VG-10 are great EDC knives that would be perfect for skinning. An FRN handled version in ZDP 129 will be released soon as well.

Another vote for the Stretch 2 ZDP 189 w/ carbon fiber. It's completely ruined by EDC rotation - I just would rather have it w/ me than any other knife.
