It is so good, that the price I paid was dwarfed by the quality of this USA made work of art. I havent been this satisfied in a very long time! This sheath knife is such a great "bang for the buck" that I could see this knife gracing the belts of nearly every outdoorsman in the world. Great steel, properly tempered with a Kraton handle that works in every environment makes it a natural-born winner.

I can't say enough good about it.

Sorry, I have no pics. you can go to KaBar and look under the Mark 1 (#2221). You'll find pics there. You can also go to the KaBar section of the Forum.

Glad you like it. Congrats!

I think that knife is one of the best deals out there for a traditional patterned working knife.

Seems quite similar to the kraton handled Cold Steel SRK, excepting the Ka Bar is 56-58 HRC while the SRK (my carbon V anyway) is 61-62 HRC

The Cold Steel SRK seems like a good knife. I haven't had the privilege of using one and the added hardness is appreciated. The nice part about the Mark 1 is it's size. Not too large, not too small and the knife is easy to maintain. The 1095 Cro-Van alloy achieves a nice 56-58 Rc balance. The price of the Mark 1 is right too. They are running between $50.00-$60.00.

Either one of these knives are nice, but the Mark 1 has a history. Steeped in the history of our forefathers, proven in both the field and in battle as well. You can imitate the style of the original Mark 1 but the dimensions of the knife remain unparalleled.

I do enjoy it so.

Your hardness is off by 10..
KaBar runs their 1095 CroVan at 56-58.
