A while back I got nostalgic for a knife I once had, and started a thread wondering if other members ever had similar feelings: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...es-you-ve-had-
-sold-em-
-and-wish-you-hadn-t
A few days later I received an email from markpmc offering to send me a knife exactly like the one I let go. I was amazed by the offer .. even more so because Mark & I had never communicated before and didn't even "know" each other. I don't think we've even talked back & forth in a thread. Mark's offer was sent in a very simple, understated way - in kind of a "no big deal, if you'd like it I'll send it to you" manner.
If you've hung around the Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades sub-forum for long, seeing acts of kindness such as this may not necessarily surprise you. Being on the receiving end of such kindness makes me feel very blessed.
I received the knife in the mail this evening and wanted to let Mark know that it means a lot to me. I'll never sell or trade this one, and it will get used! It's riding in my pocket as I type and it feels good to be reconnected to an old friend! Thank you Mark!
(I'm a lousy photographer even in the daylight, let alone under artificial lighting, so this is a copy of the knife Mark sent me):
