Sooo I did it again... Blew a bunch of money on an Edge Pro Apex and a BK-9. They both came at the exact same time yesterday afternoon. At first, I had to pay $42 in customs and I thought the two boxes were for the sharpening system, but then after I brought it in and was about to open them, I realized they were from two different adresses!! Great surprise for me :p

Tried my hand at sharpening for the first time, first on some beaters, then I attempted a mirror edge with my bk-2, bk-11 and my new bk-9. Here is some candy for your optical receptors.

I couldnt get really good shots of the edge/bevel, the lighting was somehow off I think. If anyone has any suggestions they would be much appreciated.

BTW, its named the King for a reason. Helluva' knife!
 
You've got some good looking steel there. That 11 looks fantastic. Are you going to strip the 9?
 
Nice job man! congrats on the new gear. I love the patina's on the 11 and the 2. enjoy your edgepro and new steel!
 
Sweet pickup! I got a 9/13 combo in the mail that I picked up from the classifieds. Can't wait! Wanna slap some micarta scales on it ASAP.

I am very tempted to, but I want to try and resist the urge because slapping some wooden scales on a black bk-9 would be awesome. Plus, the original factory coating helps me worry less about rust

Thanks everyone, I told myself that once I got the bk-9 and the edgepro sharpener, I would stop.. I dont know whats wrong with me, but I kind of want the BK-16 now... and the Potbelly.... and another bk-11 that I'll keep black this time

Funny story: The other day, a friend of mine caught me staring deeply in awe at my BK-11's mirror polish edge. Said to me, "dude, its just a knife". I wanted to smack him haha
