I took my family on a cabin trip this weekend in Oklahoma. Had a great time with the kiddos, wife, and in-laws! Of course I had to start a fire in the outside fire pit so I immediately unpacked and started to process firewood. I took my 9, and only the 9 with me.
I am so impressed with the King! I have had her for about 5 yard and used her a lot, but never like I did this weekend. I only processed fallen trees and cut up about 8 of them. I then chopped the logs to about 18 inches each. I had to split several of those for kindling to get the fires started.
I don't know what kind of wood it was but my father-in-law brought his chainsaw and had to stop using it on these types of trees because his chains were throwing mad sparks. Unreal hard!! It was nothing for the King. With patience, and proper technique I was able to supply enough wood for several days worth of fires in a very large pit thanks to my 9!!
The strangest thing is that I brought the BK9 home JUST as sharp as when I took her. It's like the hard wood kept sharpening the edge for me. Never heard or seen that before. The King was the star this trip for sure!!
