The contents of the pouch is: binos, survival cards, kool aid & boulin packets, orange space blanket, pack of gum, titaium spork, Spyderco hand saw, small leatherman multi-tool, rat-3 in 1095 steel, ceramic sharpening rod, first aid kit, red bandana, Doug Ritter pocket survival pack, 50lb. fireline fishing line, sweedish fire steel, and tissue paper in gerber bag.

The Doug Ritter psp with items I have added: Boy scout hot spark, # 8 big fishing hook ( to use mainly as a gaft hook ), I added some more sm. fishing hooks, a swiss army tweezers, 1 scalpel blade.

This is the Medical adventures ultra lite .3 first aid kit. I added a photon flash light clipped to the pouch, chapstick, burnjel, 2 gerber baby bottle bags.

This is the Nalgene ajustable shoulder water bottle carrier: The nylon knife sheath, the pouch for the mini mag flash light, & the pouch for the U-dig-it are sewn on the bottle carrier.
Project II: hollow handle contents are cotton/vaseline mix, 1 scapel blade, 20lb. nylon fishing line wrapped around a paper clip, 2 needles, sweedish fire steelscout model, water bottle, snow peak titainum solo pot used as a canteen cup, the U-dig-it folding hand shovel, and another firesteel with container of cot/vas. mix. and my wifes project II

well that is my shoulder kit it weighs almost 8lbs. There are several items of redundency fire steels and cot/vas mixs knives 1 small light thin in blade for mainly food prep. Also there is a med to large knife7.5" blade for all other camp chores and as a last resort self preservation. This is my ready to go kit. The last few pics are how i carry my kit pretty much anyware.

The pic where I have it slung on my left shoulder the water bottle is in front. My left armcovers the Project II and I mean even if someone is standing right beside me they can not see a knife and there fore these who might not approve of large knives in public can not see it. Out of sight out of mind. whether I am taking my beagle for a walk in the park or just in public I carry this kit with me. With my binos wrapped around my neck and water bottle right there in front people think there goes a water drinking bird watcher. And if ever asked about what is in the pouch in back I say never leave home with out your first aid kit. I once slipped and cut my hand and will never be without one again and leave it at that. when away form the public and those that i do not know I sling it over my head and around my shoulder where it is slung across my back. This is very comfortable for me to carry it this way.

The last way I carry the kit is behind my feet in front of the seat of my truck or some one elses vehicle.

This is my never leave home without it kit. Add in a filson hat and pair of leather gloves with a 4" cuff and you are good to go.
Take care all

Is this in the right forum?

Nice set-up. You wouldn't think that that bag could fit all that stuff in it. I guess its all in the way you pack everything as well.

With regards to the last pic just wondering if thats a good idea if you're in the drivers side. What if you brake hard and that pack inadvertently slides underneath your brake pedal? or even your accelerator pedal for that matter.

BOK I hope this is in the right area I am showing two of my Chris Reeves knives the Project II and if you look at the picture of the kit slung across my back there is my shadow III on my belt next to a small black pouch. There is also my wifes Procject II in one of the pictures. As for the pack on the floor of my truck and getting in the way of sliding around or anything it stays right where I put it. I have been using this system for almost 2 years now and so far so good.

mete I do have a little roll in the survival pack next to the paper and pencil. I do also have a hand gun and do carry it some times in the field or when target shooting.

Thanks for the comments,
Bryan

chimeragrande I will have more pics comming. What type of kit are you working on? shoulder rig, belt type, back pack, or a vest. and will you
be able to post pics too. If not that is ok. I am interested in all kits.
I have made up different types of kits, but so far this kit with the pics up
above is what I like the best so far.

I am making a kit to sit on my back / back of my bike as I ride my motorcycle from Venice, Florida to Sturgis, S. Dakota. I have my Busse FBM mounted on the side of the backpack, and the Shadow III (when it arrives) shall sit either on my belt or mounted to my chest via a home made cargo strap turned Dundee rig. On the other side of the pack I have a small axe / provision for a rifle. A sleeping bag / inflatable pillow underneath (teathered to the bike) in a waterproof bag, and mostly food, water, tools, lockwire, duct tape, firestarter / flares, about 100' of 500 cord and minimal clothes in the pack. Plus a tent and a waterproof first aid / survival kit with most of the usuals also bungeed to the back of Sweet Kathleen (the Harley). I'll be leaving in late July to make it for bike week in August. This kit should also see some heavy use when I go up north to Canada to hunt in the fall / winter. I am not quite sure how to get pics up here without having a URL. I'll email you if you like once I get it all assembled.

You can download your pictures to a free service like imageshack.us.
Then just copy the url you get after uploading the pictures, and put them in your post here......... . :) Its pretty easy.

It's after 1 am here and I got a picture up to image shack. I'll try to take some shots when I get my backpack (and motorcycle) out of storage. (Back in Canada.)

Ok Thanks, I will be posting pics of the snow and birch bark fire I did just a Little while ago.
