Hello everyone... Since my last posts here, my collections just has gotten a bit better and I am very grateful for your suggestions, reviews, opinions, helped me buy few awesome pieces (that I will never sell or trade)... They've become like my babies, I play with them, I wash them (Remington Gun oil or Sewing Machine Mineral Oil) and the only thing on my mind: what should be the next?

Few thoughts: ColdSteel Luzon - blade length 6 inches, open 13.5 inch. Biggest folder I've held, folding sword...

Paragon Asheville Steel Tactical-Art Series Limited Edition Knife 1 of 300 - got it brand new from a pawn shop for $140. Looks brand new unused. Do not know much about this knife or brand. Your thoughts appreciated.

SR11 Lionsteel - Fine knife, but needs some modifications... Handle not the best, robolock system ok, taking it apart and putting it back = complete freaking nightmare.

Protech TR-4 - Wow! That's what I call quality American knife.

Rick Hinderer Full Track - Fine looking sexy knife. Why are Rick's knives so f...ing expensive? He is not the Steve Jobs of the knife world as far as I know...

Nice group! Great selection!

What is your impression of the EuroEdge?

Was very interested behind the story how this Spyderco piece was created by Ed Schempp. Was not big fan of Made in Taiwan piece but I was assured Taichung shop makes great quality knives. It's a great collection piece, but I would not carry it, I do not think it is practical (for me), it does sit fine in the hand, but I think this is more just like a showroom collectible piece , beautiful and unique viking design, but I've heard great stories too by those who carry and love it. Not for me, but great piece for the collection. I'd love to sharpen the other side and make it a real dagger - illegal to carry in many states but ok as a home decor piece... that would be more interesting and unique... So far I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars. Good knife, unique look, sexy stylish.

Yeah the Hinderer's are a bit rich for my blood. I like them but I usually opt for the cheaper Hinderer designs from ZT. I really like the ZT 0393, and you can find them around $200 or less now that they are discontinued.

My compliments on your USDA approved organically grown collection.

It takes time but after a while you know exactly what you want in a knife and that is when the purchasing starts to slow down....atleast for me.

Just beware relapse because that happens too. Didn’t buy a knife for 3 years and now the last two years I am more focused on getting exactly what I want. Experience lets me know exactly what I want.

Fortunately I was able to sell/trade alot of my older knives I thought I couldn’t live without.

God put something in you that loves knives, embrace it. Just don’t sell the family farm.

Thank you. Yes I feel I am at the slowing down period, only Chris Reeve Large Sebenza on my mind... Did get a replica Spyderco by accident and now much smarter to buy, only buy from dealers, bladehq, dlt trading and sellers who have great reputation selling knives. I think Spyderco has the most replicas and thanks god those Chinese counterfeiters are not that good to copy and counterfeit all the small details... Still possible with one look and feel determine, but took me 2 years of learning about knives. My last step was to start taking them apart and see all the interesting details inside. Would love to learn how to sharpen and be a pro sharpener. Still learning from the youtube...

Good golly man that Luzon is GINORMOUS. Makes that Full Track look like a Half Track. The Full Track is not a small knife.

Yes, Rick's knives are freakin' pricey. That's my addiction at the moment.

I've got 2 Paragons and I am very happy with both of them. Quality built and hard firing. You'll like it ;)

Oh yes! I thought Spyderco Tatanka was big, but this folder should be called a folding sword. To my surprise it's smooth, opens well, no issues, I just do not know if it will be practical to carry, great collection piece though. Maybe if I were over 7 feet tall this knife would feel like a descent carry folder... However it is fun to play with and to show it to my friends...

What is the knife on the bottom row, 4th from the left with the skull pattern on the handle?

Ch knife. That model had earlier samples that were 8cr13mov and mislabeled. Iirc they got sold a wrong steel when they requested s35vn iirc.

They are also known for making clones and trying to copy the basic style of other brands without making exact replicas. The owner of ch is cousins with rike knife. Another one who copies a few knives.

The guy who owns ch used to work for Kizer and left due to different opinions. The skull thing was a thing common in the Kizer line, dunno if that was his design concept or not. But Kizer does have a model by Matt C. With his skull on it, though different. Similar concept.

Just see too much copying instead of innovation in new styles.

Not a bad collection op. You seem to like big chunky knives. Which ones do you use?

You think Hinderer's are pricey? Should have been around a few years ago when a run of the mill XM-18 was going for $700 on the secondary market

I always liked the ZT versions better anyway...

I have had a few Paragons come through my hands and they all seemed to be pretty solid but I do love me some Protech. Dave makes an awesome knife.
